Chris has more than 20 years of experience in the landscape design / build industry with the last 8 spent at Borab Landscape. His role is to design and manage the installation of various outdoor projects and ensure that client expectations are more than satisfied. Chris believes in a hands-on approach and makes it a priority to be involved with critical decisions in the field. Experience has taught him that transparent communication among clients, builders, subcontractors and our internal team is paramount in exceeding expectations. Chris delivers uncompromised quality and integrity in all aspects of construction and softscape.
Chris attended Warren Wilson College just outside of Asheville, NC, studied forest biology and worked on the campus tree crew. He earned recognition for excellence in the school’s unique work program. It was during this time that he realized his passion involved working outdoors with plants, trees, stone, and various types of building materials.
He moved back home to New Jersey and joined Wolek’s Garden Services. Greg Wolek would become his horticultural mentor and introduced Chris to many destination gardens in PA, DE, and NJ. His favorite was and still is the world renowned Longwood Gardens created by Pierre DuPont in the 1920’s and 1930’s. He continually visits the ever evolving estate and finds inspiration in its history and adaptability to modern-day technology.
Through the years, Chris continued to develop his knowledge of design, construction, technology and plant material for use in landscape, seasonal container plantings and annual bedding design. In 2005 he became a certified installer of CAST low voltage lighting systems.
Chris came to Borab Landscape with an interest in developing large residential landscape projects and sought to acquire new skills and experiences through working with George Borab. Over the years at Borab, he has designed and installed multiple pools, indoor and outdoor spas, water features, fire features, patios, decks, screen plantings, lighting systems and beautiful gardens.
When Chris is not in the work truck, he relishes time with his wife and two children and performs behind the bass in his band.
“Our idea was to create an inviting oasis where friends and family could gather in and around the pool. To that end, George and Chris took our vague ideas and fashioned them into reality. The Borab team created a triple waterfall and an in-pool bar, pergola and dining area that could accommodate even the largest groups. The pool area was imbued with an inviting ambiance through lighting, hand carved fire boulders and sensation planting.”
